I told you I would review more whites! This last go around at Trader Joes, I didn’t even LOOK at any reds….okay that’s a lie. I promised myself that if I picked up a Sauvignon Blanc (which I used to love), I would be able to pick up a yummy red of my choosing. 🙂
I know I’ve said a few times that I USED to love whites. And I did! But sometime in the last 8 months, I’ve really gone off them. Maybe it’s the higher percentage of sugar, or the grapes used, but they always give me a headache, stomachache, and the worst hangover! Basically the opposite of everyone else in the world, LOL!
Type: 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
First Impressions: It’s super bright and crisp! Right off the bat, you smell the sweetness, and then it hits your mouth and it’s juicy and fruity and fragrant. I taste super crisp, ripe apples, and a little bit of honey. You can sense floral notes in there- but it’s more fruity than floral. You can taste the hints of melon that it’s described to have but that’s it for me. It’s a good amount of sweet, but a little too much for me! I also don’t know what I was thinking getting such a crisp white in JANUARY- but you live and you learn, right?
Pairings: A bright salad! Maybe with kale or spinach, definitely something crunchy. I would pair with fresh foods such as a veggie plate, or summer salad. Would also go great with BBQ Chicken, or any summer BBQ food!!
Alcohol Percentage: 12.5%
