Bogle Vineyards – Pinot Noir

Happy Hump Day!

This week we tried a 2016 Pinot Noir from Bogle Vineyards.

Price: $8.99 at Safeway / Vons

Type: Pinot Noir

First Impression: It has a watery smell, nothing strong! Definitely on the lighter side, it doesn’t coat your mouth, or have leave much in your palette. There is a dry aftertaste, but it sticks right on your gum line. It has a more herb-ish taste to it, almost earthy? I can pick up some softer notes of something sweeter like an over-ripe cherry or berry! If you don’t like sweet or heavy wines, this would be a good pairing for you.

Food Pairing: A dessert! If you don’t like having too much sweet tastes at once, this would be a perfect wine to have with a cake, or some kind of chocolate. They would balance each other out for sure. This would also be a good second bottle of wine, start with something lighter or a cocktail with dinner, and move to this red after.

Alcohol Percentage: 14%

All in all, this is good, but not my favorite. I had a hard time having more than one glass. I probably would get it again only to bring it to a party to share!
